Why Utah matters to
my business perspective.

By Bryan Hawker

For me, a business location is about more than an address. It shapes the people we meet, the practical decisions we make, and the life we build around our work. These are five considerations behind my Utah perspective.

01 / Understand the business costs.

Taxes and operating costs belong in the wider picture of running a business. The useful question is how those costs fit the needs, plans, and responsibilities of a particular company.

02 / Look at the business environment.

A business needs a clear understanding of the environment it operates in. That includes its customers, the people it works with, and the practical requirements of its industry.

03 / Think about connections.

Distribution depends on connections: between products and customers, between teams, and between a business and its markets. Infrastructure and location matter when considering how those connections will work.

04 / Stay attentive to the details.

Every location brings its own rules and responsibilities. I believe that understanding the details is part of making informed decisions and keeping a business focused on its objectives.

05 / Consider life beyond work.

Utah’s mountain and desert landscapes are part of what makes it meaningful to me. The opportunity to spend time outdoors adds another dimension to the place I call home.

A business outlook is shaped by experience. For me, Utah is an important part of that context.
